SOCIETY is Hobart’s original underground cocktail bar, serving good drinks and good times in the back streets of Salamanca Place. Visit during their legendary happy hour for a bargain! Such as the $7.5 Tasmanian G&T, or $7.5 Whisky Wattleseed Highball. Or visit for a late nightcap and select a signature cocktail from the list or chat to one of their friendly bartenders about a spirit recommendation. With Tasmania’s largest collection of local gin and whisky, there is something for everyone.

The beautiful backbar is the centrepiece of the venue, hidden beneath a brutalist concrete facade. Displaying a collection of over 500 rare and wonderful spirits, complete with a custom-made sliding ladder, reminiscent of a Disney fairy tale.

Specialising in Tasmanian gin and whisky, connoisseurs will also find a wide selection of tequila, mezcal, rum and delicious grape based spirits including pisco, brandy and cognac. Can’t decide? Try spinning the gin wheel – such fun! Or order a gin or whisky tasting platter.
